Morphology: single or clumped cells in suspension; some cells adhere to plastic
Medium: 90% RPMI 1640 + 10% h.i. FBS
Subculture: seed out at ca. 0.5 x 10⁶ cells/ml; maintain at 0.2-0.7 x 10⁶ cells/ml; split 1:2 to 1:5 every 2-3 days; some cells adhere to plastic, but can be detached mechanically (trypsin not necessary)
Incubation: at 37 °C with 5% CO₂
Doubling time: ca. 48 hours​​​​​​​
Harvest: maximal density at 1.5 x 10⁶ cells/ml​​​​​​​
Storage: frozen with 70% medium, 20% FBS, 10% DMSO​​​​​​​
